Edexcel Level One Media
Includes:
City and Guilds Literacy and Numeracy
Courses are aimed exclusively at 16-18 year olds who are interested in the Creative and Media sector.
The courses take place at Toxteth TV – a purpose built Media centre with small companies and a TV studio in addition to classroom spaces. As well as learning the specialist skills, you will also be working to improve your English and Maths, embedded with the practical elements of the course.
Successful completion of one or more of these courses can lead to BTEC 1st Diplomas in Media, Multimedia, Music Technology, Art and Design and Photography or a range of Media and Art based National Diplomas.
You will be required to do an assessment in English and Maths to help decide whether this is the right course for you.

Introductory Diploma MEDIA

If you have always had a passion for film and television, why not learn how to film and edit your own ideas? This course is designed to give you all the basic information and experience you need to take a first step into media production. The College First programme is a great way to start your career. It enables you to develop the skills and confidence to progress in college and into work. You will develop a wide range of skills in your chosen subject area as well as gaining qualifications in English, maths and ICT.
You do not need to have any formal qualifications in Media Skills but you will need to show that you have an interest in the area. You will need to be at Entry 3 or above in English and maths (GCSE grades F and G).
You could progress onto Level 2 courses like:
- Level 2 Certificate in Video, Audio Production and Animation.
- BTEC First Diploma in Media, Multimedia or Photography
