Film and technology is a fantastic opportunity for young people aged 15 – 19 who are not in full-time employment, education or training to participate in learning about digital technologies and film production. It has been funded by First Light and is being run by Catalyst Performing Arts in collaboration with Toxteth TV.
On the course the participants will have an introduction to how films are put together (e.g. camerawork, editing, sound designed), create their own film blog, explore how the film industry works and learn how to use digital technologies to produce their own short film. The course also aims to develop the participants’ skills in other areas such as working as part of a team, creative thinking, leadership, digital literacy and communication. So if you’re a young person who is interested in developing their creative skills and getting involved in film production – or if you’re an organisation working with young people who are not in full-time employment, education or training – then this course is right up your street!
